1MM "Walk a Mile in their Boots."

To walk in the boots of the Veteran is to attempt to empathize with where they are coming from.

Meaning behind 1MM

Our nonprofit 1MM (1 Million Miles) seeks to encourage others to walk in a veteran's boots to understand and empathize with where they're coming from.

​

When we discovered 1MM nonprofit, we realized in the financial world, 1MM represent $1,000,000 dollars.  We also realized the Roman numeral M represents 1,000 units, therefore MM represents 1,000 times 1,000  equaling 1 million.   

 

Months later we discovered, a Roman mile is mille passus.  Which in Latin literally means “thousand paces”.   So, 1MM can also represent 1 million Roman paces.  We believe this to be synchronicity.  

​

We encourage your daily walk to include picking up some trash.  Our goal is for 1 million people to walk 1 mile a day picking up trash in their neighborhood. This equates to 1MM miles of trash being picked up every day.  

 

By doing this walk in a mindful serving manner, we hope this brings you closer to understanding those who served.
